Sometimes you just need to zoom out

Well.... What a month November has been

As I sat here feeling overwhelmed, feeling like I'm running for miles but only getting one tiny step further each day, or sometimes even one step backwards, I took a deep breath.

I closed my eyes & ZOOMED OUT.

All of a sudden it hit me. Just how much I have achieved within 1 small month and guess what? what felt like a tiny step before, turned into a HUGE one.

Sometimes you just need to take a step back and reflect on everything you have achieved so far, whether big or small, they are all steps in the right direction to your journey of success and happiness. You just need to realise it.

As I went through the month of November, I actually felt a little deflated, like I hadn't achieved much but my god was I wrong. I was so caught up in my day to day that everything I had achieved just got swallowed up into an empty hole of non-existence. It was only until I sat back to reflect, that the hole opened back up and smacked me right in the face.

So grab a hot cup of coffee and a cosy blanket whilst we take you back on our November Journey. I hope that this gives you some inspiration to take each day as it comes and to celebrate the wins or sometimes even the fails.

"To win you must OUT-FAIL the competition. Failure = Feedback" - Steven Bartlett

Achievement No.1: What else would I start with other than our rebrand? We kick started November with a suave new look and a complete rebrand. We had sadly outgrown SB Studio and it was time to actually create a BRAND and not just a business. I wanted this to reflect my mission and my goals, which is to mix brows & waxing with relaxation and so The Brow & Wax Spa was born. If you're someone that has done a rebrand before, well you'll know it is not bloody easy. There is so much hard work and effort that goes into creating a brand, down to the smallest of details. From Creating your name, to creating your logo or your tag line, to printing leaflets, business cards, creating a marketing strategy, trademarking your name and how many more hours have you got to read this?

I could go on forever, but my point here is there was a lot of planning that went into this rebrand and I can say with confidence that my Brand now reflects me and my goals

Achievement No.2: Okay this one follows on from our rebrand, but I felt like it deserved its own stage. Drum roll ...... Our new website was launched (insert party poppers here). This one had me, pulling my hair out. gritting my teeth and turning into an oger from Shrek. Website building is NOT easy. Ill repeat in simpler terms, DONT DO IT YOURSELF.

All joking aside, with no experience of building a website or even knowing where to start, somehow alongside a whole rebrand, I managed to create my own website all by myself hitting around 400 views per month, not me getting teary eyed over here.

Achievement No.3: Ill give you a clue for this one ..... your reading it right now. Got it?

Blogging.

At the start of November I wrote my very first blog and I LOVED IT. I wanted to create these monthly blogs as a diary of my entrepreneurial journey whilst hopefully creating some inspiration and some giggles. If you don't find my wittiness funny then this isn't the blog for you ;)

Blogging is a way of journaling for me and I've come to realise that I'm not so bad at it.

Achievement No.4: Your welcome for this one by the way. Black Friday, The biggest sale of the year and of course we had to get involved launching our black Friday offers. Although from the front end it just looks like we've put an offer out there for you all to book, the planning that goes into these offers in order to make them as success is a mammoth amount. Resulting in us having over 20 bookings in one day

Achievement No. 5: Creating the longest blog in the world.....

Only joking but I am sorry this one is so long but if you couldn't tell, we've had a jam packed November. Number 5 may seem like a small win but for me it felt like a weight had been lifted. Since I trained in SPMU back in March, completing lots of models and passing the course, it went as quiet as the streets of London in lockdown. Not a peep, no bookings, no enquires, nothing. SPMU is a hard one because without a portfolio of work, there's no bookings and without bookings there's no portfolio. We had hit a wall, but I wasn't going to give up. I spent hours upon hours practicing, researching and speaking to other SPMU artists and guess what happened in November? We had 7, yup 7 bookings for SPMU. Let the journey begin.

Achievement No.6: Along side all of this, in the month of November we hit almost 100 bookings which is a huge goal for us and our largest booking yet. So not only have we been working super hard in the back ground but have also had a huge amount of bookings, brows to make beautiful and bushes to be de-bushed.

These next two achievements are personal ones but ones that I believe are what will get me to where I want to be so I thought I would share them.

Achievement No.7: I started my gym journey. Yup I got lazy in lock down and haven't been able to get back on the peddle with my health since. Being in the beauty industry, I feel like a 90 year old women with a back as creaky as some old wooden stairs. My health should always be my priority because without my health there is no Brow & Wax Spa. So I've been given the kick up the bum I needed and have been enjoying the gym at least 2-3 times per week.

Achievement No.8: I became T-Total.... FOREVER. Alcohol is something I have never enjoyed, especially the hang over the next day. In all honesty the only reason I drank it was because it was the 'Norm' and it gave me the confidence to get up and wiggle my but on a night out. I want that confidence in my day to day and without have to chug a glass of Gin and lemonade down my throat so I’ve made the promise to myself to not be pressured into drinking and to build my confidence without it.

So there we have it, 8 HUGE achievements and one LARGE blog in just 4 weeks.
